Special Services

Grace Lutheran Church enjoys celebrating special occasions in your faith journey (youth and adults). Please contact our church office if you are interested in learning more about the celebrations and services that we offer. We will walk with you in planning and preparing for these events.

  • Baptism is God's gracious and powerful work of grace. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God miraculously washes away our sins. Through the waters of Baptism, our old selves die, and we are made new by the power of the Holy Spirit. Although the Lutheran faith practices infant baptism, we welcome individuals from all walks of life to receive Baptism. Individuals must have a weekly session with our Pastor until they are ready to receive the sacrament of Baptism.

  • Holy Communion is an essential sacrament in our Christian identity. It is a sacred meal in which Christ is present in the bread and wine. Through Communion, we receive the promise of grace. To prepare for the First Communion, we invite baptized individuals to participate in a weekly session with our Pastor until they are ready to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion.

  • Confirmation is a public declaration of faith, also known as an Affirmation of Baptism. It's an opportunity for people to affirm the promises their parents, sponsors, and congregation made for them during their Baptism. The individuals must complete one to two years of weekly classes before being confirmed on Reformation Sunday. Topics of these classes include Lutheran doctrine, Christian teachings, and the study of Scripture.

  • Marriage is a gift of God intended for the joy and desire of those who enter it and the well-being of the whole human family. It is also a time when vows are publicly witnessed. The church, in worship, surrounds these promises with a gathering of God’s people, the witness of the word of God, and the prayers of blessing and intercession. Couples are welcome to hold weddings in our church space and have our Pastor officiate them. Individuals are encouraged to participate in pre-marital counseling.

  • The death of a baptized Chistian is one who has lived in the communion of the church and is a time for thanksgiving and proclamation of the good news. Our pastor walks with the grieving loved ones, leads the wake at the funeral home, and performs the last rites for the burial.
